The Dux soccer team sent their four seniors out with a bang Wednesday night, beating Byron Center 1-0. Sam Hecht scored the lone goal for the Dux, off of a beautiful drive and delivery down the left side by Tally Martinez. The Dux defense comprised of Mattie Busscher, Lucy Bouvier, and Leanne Wyrick, held Byron Center's young and fast offense in check all night, limiting scoring opportunities and turning away potential threats. The Dux held an advantage through the midfield as well, out-possessing the Bulldogs and winning 50/50 battles throughout the night. "Our midfield played with a ton of confidence and physicality tonight. We were aggressive in pursuing the ball, and made quick and intelligent decisions with our distribution. Callie Dobrinski, Josie Bos and Andrea Valdes really controlled the middle tonight, while Kylee Winn and Tally Martinez caused all kinds of havoc on the outside."

"This win is especially sweet for our four seniors - Mattie Busscher, Josie Bos, Kyarra Blattner and Ryleigh Farrell. We came out and played with confidence and are happy to send the seniors out with a victory in their last regular season game. So proud of the young women they have become, and I look forward to a deep run in the state tournament."

The win propels the Dux into the state tournament next week riding a seven game unbeaten streak. 

The Dux end the regular season with a record of 7-6-6 and 4-5-3 in the OK Green.
