The Dux varsity soccer team wasted no time in the second match of the Kristin Stowie Memorial Soccer Tournament in Comstock Park, scoring two goals in the opening 8 minutes en route to a 5-0 drubbing over Fremont. Makenna Anderson took a ball down the right flank towards the end line before ripping the ball back across the goal. Tally Martinez redirected the volley with her right foot into the back of the net, giving the Dux the lead - they never looked back. Less than 5 minutes later, Anderson again gathered a ball and drove down the right side, this time finding Sam Hecht in front of the net. Hecht's blast made it 2-0. The Dux added 3 goals in the second half in a similar manner. Lucy Bouvier found the back of the net after Kylee Winn found the endline and played a ball back to her at the top of the 18. Anderson scored a goal of her own after a scramble in front of the Fremont net, making it 4-0. Ari Rodriguez capped the scoring after her right footed blast from the top of the 18 beat the keeper after a great slotted ball by Morghan VanDyke. Taylor Twork and Ryleigh Farrell combined for the shutout.
