The Dux varsity girls soccer team dropped their OK Green conference match against host Holland Wednesday night, 1-2. The Dutch took an early 1-0 lead against the run of play in the first half, and carried that lead into halftime. The Dutch made it 2-0 with about 15 minutes remaining in the match. The Dux however would respond less than 3 minutes later when Sam Hecht gathered a ball near the goal line on the left side and muscled her way through a couple of defenders before firing a shot to the near post that hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced across the goal. Tally Martinez was there waiting for the Dux to knock in the rebound. 

"Despite the loss, I saw a lot of positive things from our team tonight and am encouraged by how we played. Our energy and intensity were good, and our ability to move the ball between lines was more consistent throughout the match. We did a much better job executing our game plan both offensively and defensively tonight. Our possession was much better and we generated a bunch of really good scoring chances compared to Monday night, when we only managed 2-3 shots on goal. We must have had 10-15 really good looks tonight, but simply could not find the back of the net. Holland's GK did everything but stand on her head tonight for them. She had a great game and came up with many really good saves throughout the match."

The Dux drop to 1-3 in the OK Green, and 2-3-2 overall.
