Dux lost a tough season opener on the road against Reeths Puffer 46-50.
The Dux were trailing early , but fought back hard with some offense from Maddie Settlemeyre and Aaliyah Ybarra. Tally Martinez propelled the momentum with 4 steals.
The Dux came out with a strong 2nd quarter totaling 24 points with Ybarra leading the charge with 8 of her team high 15points. Sydney Lewis grabbed some tough boards and Kaylee Bakker added a couple of blocks to close out the half leading 35-28.
Unfortunately the Dux couldn't contain Reeths Puffer's transition and had too many TOs late in the 3rd quarter to maintain the lead. The Dux only scored 2 points in the 4th and were not able to convert on some tough plays down the stretch.
The Dux were led by Ybarra with 15, Bakker with 12 points and 9 blocks, while Settlemeyre added 10points. Tally Martinez had a great game defensively totaling 6 steals.
Dux are back at it this Friday at Home.
