Dux took a tough loss Friday night against Allendale 28-35.  The Dux were off to a great start with Bakker winning the tip, hitting Tally Martinez who weaved between defenders for a quick 2 points up on the board.   The Dux held solid on the defensive end until the Falcons got on a roll from behind the 3 point line hitting 3 consecutive 3’s all in the 1st quarter.  

For the rest of the 1st half the Dux struggled to get in a rhythm offensively and didn’t get many open looks, falling behind 16-23.  

The lady Dux came out with much better ball movement in the 3rd quarter and were able to knock down some open looks.  A few transition baskets from Tally Martinez, as well as 3’s from both Kaylee Bakker and Marcy Creevy helped the Dux take the lead going into the 4th quarter 28-27.  

Unfortunately, a few turnovers and breakdowns on defense allowed the Falcons to step back into the lead. The Dux had some good looks down the stretch but were unable to knock any of them down, being held scoreless in the 4th quarter.

The Dux were led in scoring by Martinez with 8, Bakker with 7 and Lucy Bouvier added 6.

 The Dux are back in action on Tuesday against Zeeland East @7pm.
