The Dux were defeated by the Zeeland East Chix 35-41 on Friday night. The game was back and forth many times with the Dux battling to stay in the game in the first half. Jolee Houle provided a good spark in the 2nd quarter hitting a deep three and a nice take to the rim. The Dux went into halftime down 13-15 , but started out with a strong response in the 2nd half led by Kaylee Bakker who ended the game with 18. Bakker did a great job looking for the ball inside and finishing around the rim scoring 12 of her 18 in the 3rd quarter. Tally Martinez and Lucy Bouvier added great defense in the 3rd as well.

Unfortunately the Dux couldn’t hold onto the lead for too long when the Chix came out strong in the 4th quarter, out scoring the Dux 18-5 . The Chix press forced the Dux into some quick shots and got West out of their rhythm and they were never quite able to recover. Houle finished with 8 and Tally Martinez added 3. 

The Dux are on the road for their next few games starting with a Holland Christian on Tuesday
