COVENANT CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 27
The Lady Dux took down Covenant Christian 44-27. The first half the Dux were battling back and forth working through some defensive breakdowns and unnecessary turnovers.
The 2nd half the Dux came out with a strong defensive front led by Tally Martinez with 11 steals and Ryleigh Farrel grabbing 9 boards along with her 5 points for the night. Kaylee Bakker was a tough presence inside with 6 boards and 3 blocks. The Dux defense held Covenant to just 4 points in each the 3rd and 4th quarter.
Offensively the Dux were led by Bakker and Jolee Houle, both with 14 points a piece. The duo did a nice job of using the inside-out game to find each other as well as some great looks in transition. Alyssa Smith also played a tough game adding 6 points, 4 steals and 4 boards.
The Dux continue on the road to Byron Center on Friday evening to open conference play.
