The freshman boy Dux took on a very quick and athletic Mona Shores team that was eager to get out in passing lanes and transition.  The Dux had a slow start going down 4-7 at the end of the first quarter, but made some adjustments and went into the half with a 16-9 lead after locking down their defense as well as taking care of the ball to allow only 2 points in the 2nd quarter.  The Sailors came out of the half energized and forced the Dux into some turnovers which lead to a 3rd quarter score of  20-18.  The Dux did an excellent job of slowing the game back down in the 4th and getting into the paint for some easy baskets and free throws as shots were not falling from deep in the second half.  All 14 guys contributed in the game and held the Sailors to a total of 29 points.  Leading the way on the offensive end was Drew Weenum with  12 points and Bergen Leoprich with 11. Brendan Gabion and Cade Overweg had an excellent defensive game.  The Dux are off till next Friday when they will take on Comstock at home.
