Zeeland West Freshman Dux sailed to an easy victory over Coopersville Broncos Freshman 11-1 on Wednesday

In the first inning, Zeeland West Freshman Dux got their offense started when Jacob Lencioni doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Zeeland West Freshman Dux put up five runs in the third inning.  Zeeland West Freshman Dux offense in the inning was led by Alex Steele, Noah VanderVelde, Logan Wyckoff, Lencioni, and Koen Rutkauskas, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

VanderVelde took the win for Zeeland West Freshman Dux. The ace went two innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out two.  Lencioni and Alex Rotman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Jake Sietsema took the loss for Coopersville Broncos Freshman. The pitcher allowed 13 hits and nine runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

Zeeland West Freshman Dux collected 15 hits on the day.  Lencioni, VanderVelde, Wyckoff, Rutkauskas, and Luke Wierenga each racked up multiple hits for Zeeland West Freshman Dux.  Wyckoff, VanderVelde, and Lencioni each managed three hits to lead Zeeland West Freshman Dux.  Zeeland West Freshman Dux stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Rotman led the way with three.
