Even though Zeeland West Freshman Dux collected eight hits to Holland Christian Freshman Maroons's five, they still fell 5-3 on Wednesday

Holland Christian Freshman Maroons got on the board in the first inning.  Austin Dehaan drove in one when Dehaan singled.

Holland Christian Freshman Maroons pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third Matthew Klaver singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Zeeland West Freshman Dux notched three runs in the second inning.  Zeeland West Freshman Dux batters contributing to the big inning included Logan Wyckoff and Lucas Smith, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Gavin Swiftney took the win for Holland Christian Freshman Maroons. The pitcher surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out six.

Jacob Lencioni took the loss for Zeeland West Freshman Dux. Lencioni surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five.

Zeeland West Freshman Dux scattered eight hits in the game.  Smith and Carson Nash all collected multiple hits for Zeeland West Freshman Dux.  Smith went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Zeeland West Freshman Dux in hits.
