The JV Dux were able to use a strong first half performance to gain another conference victory on Saturday, February 27 at the Holland Dutch Dome. Up 29-15 at halftime, the Dux held off a second half Dutch comeback to win by a final score of 53-43 to move their record to 7-1 (6-1) at the halfway point in the season. 

The Dux were led by Luke Bakker (2024) with 18 points, Myles Steffen (2024) with 11 points, and Josh Agar (2023) with nine points, including seven in the first half. 

"We challenged our guys to get off to a great start in the first half, and they answered the call," Coach Ray said. The Dux started the game on an 11-0 run. "One of our team goals is to make the other team take the first timeout of the game, and we were able to accomplish that today."

In all, seven Dux tallied points in the box score, including Deklen Klamt (2023) with six points off the bench. Owen Telgenhof (2023) provided some energetic first-half minutes for the Dux as well, tallying a big block.

"Owen has worked his butt off in practice all season. He has done the things that we have asked him to do, like communicate on defense and from the bench, play unselfishly on offense, and provide energy at all times," Coach Ray said.

The Dux will be back in action on Tuesday, March 2 at 5:30pm when they take on Muskegon High School, the only team to knock off the Dux so far on the season.
