MONA SHORES HIGH SCHOOL: 40
The Dux played from behind all night before eventually earning victory over Mona Shores, ultimately winning 43-40. Down 7-17 after the first quarter, and 19-24 at the half, the Dux eventually were able to take a five-point lead during the 4th quarter, as they held off a very strong Sailors team.
"While I was disappointed with our lack of energy in the first half, I was proud of our ability to come back and recapture the lead," Coach Ray said. "In such a truncated season, we knew we would take some lumps at times during games, but the players are doing a wonderful job of learning on the fly and being coachable."
Skyler Guerink (2023) scored seven points for the Dux, and David Rockel (2023) had eight crucial 4th-quarter points. Luke Bakker (2024) led the way with 16 points.
