MUSKEGON HIGH SCHOOL: 49
The JV team suffered a tough one-point loss to Muskegon to open up their 2020-2021 basketball season, with the final score being 48-49. At one point in the 3rd, the team was down 35-22 before making a valiant comeback, eventually taking the lead down the stretch. However, with seconds to go, Muskegon was able to capitalize from the free throw line to gain victory.
"I am so proud of how our team fought back to have a chance to win in the end," Coach Ray said. "However, we weren't able to hit key free throws when we needed them, and Muskegon was able to make them. Hats off to them! This was a great learning experience for us."
Scoring was balanced throughout the team, with Lukas Bakker (2024) leading the way with 11 points. Chase Holwereda (2023) chipped in eight points, including two three-pointers, and Deklen Klamt (2023) scored seven points.
