Zeeland West Dux JV took the lead late in the game in an 11-9 victory over Byron Center High on Tuesday. The game was tied at nine with Zeeland West Dux JV batting in the bottom of the fifth when Caleb Smith grounded out, scoring one run.

Byron Center High scored eight runs in the fifth inning, but Zeeland West Dux JV still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Byron Center High came thanks to singles by Matt Myers, Damon Heyboer, Zach Frasher, and Kolten Silvernail and an error on a ball put in play by Niko Babinec.

Aden DeGraaf pitched Zeeland West Dux JV to victory. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run on one hit and walking one.  Luke VanderWerff threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  VanderWerff recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Zeeland West Dux JV.

Nate Volkers took the loss for Byron Center High . He allowed six runs on one hit.

Smith started the game for Zeeland West Dux JV. He surrendered eight runs on ten hits over four and a third innings, striking out two Myers started the game for Byron Center High . He lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out one

Zeeland West Dux JV totaled nine hits.  Jordan Brower and Jack Aalderink each collected multiple hits for Zeeland West Dux JV.  Aalderink and Brower each managed two hits to lead Zeeland West Dux JV.
