The varsity water polo team defeated East Kentwood on Monday night, 11-6.  Despite a slow start, the team came on strong in the third and fourth quarters to win in convincing fashion.  

Kaleb DeNeff led the team in scoring with four goals.  He also had four steals and three field blocks.  Kyle VanTuinen, Spencer DeGraaf, and Aidan VanSoest each had two goals.  In Aidan's first game back from surgery, he also had five steals and three drawn exclusions.  Bryce Ketchum added the team's last goal on a great tee shot to open the team's scoring after the slow start.  

In cage, Evan Potter had a great overall game with eleven saves, three assists, and a pivotal steal.  He also made a save on a Kentwood penalty shot. 

With this win, the team finishes 5-2 in the conference and 3-1 in the district.  Those records put Zeeland second in the district and third in the OK Rainbow conference.  The team plays one more tournament in Rockford this weekend before the District Tournament next week.  Districts are home and should be pivotal in determining who will make the State Tournament.
