Boys Varsity Water Polo Co-op vs. East Grand Rapids HS School

The varsity water polo team started the regular season with a win over the East Grand Rapids Pioneers, 7-5. It was a slow start for Zeeland with East scoring the first two goals of the game. The Chix and Dux played strong in the second quarter to tie the game and then pulled ahead in the third quarter going on a 5-0 run.
Kaleb DeNeff, Bryce Ketchum, and Aidan Van Soest each scored two goals and Spencer DeGraaf had the remaining one. The team played great on six-on-five with Aidan's and Spencer's goals coming from man up possessions. Spencer DeGraaf and Kyle VanTuinen were great distributors with two assists each.
The team played great defensively as well with Aidan having six steals and Kaleb notching four more. Evan Potter played a great game with twelve steals and a steal.
It will be a rematch against East on Friday at the Grand Haven Shootout at the Shore.
