Zeeland West Varsity Football beat host Whitehall 60-43 on Friday the 13th of September. The first half of the game was dominated by the Dux with a halftime score of 38-7. Following halftime the Vikings tried to make a comeback in a relatively back and forth second half, however they were no match for the Dux. Coach John Shillito stated, “We played well in the first half even though we got kind of scrambled around in the second half. It was thrilling to see Mason Busscher score two long touchdowns.” Jr. Mason Busscher’s touchdowns helped the Dux maintain the lead in the second half. Sr. Brody Maas commented, “I think the first half really showed who we are, but the second half showed us who we need to be.”
