The Dux were back in action tonight at "The Swamp" and were able to beat Union 55-40.  West struggled early as they had to adjust to not having Luke Bakker in the lineup and started the game off down 11-2 just 3 minutes into the game.  The defense tightened up from there and Union was held to just 10 more points in the last 13 minutes of the first half.  Josh Agar came up big with multiple put backs on missed transition layups by his teammates and got his teammates and the crowd fired up.The defense led to offense in the second quarter and West held a 24-21 lead at the half. In the second half, the score was tight until Kylan Arnold hit a big 3 to give the Dux a little breathing room.  West held an 8 point lead at the end of the third quarter.  Union kept on there suffocating defense in the 4th, but the Dux showed poise and attacked and shared the ball and kept Union at arms length until the end when they were finally able to stretch the lead to 15 points.  The Dux had very even scoring with Kylan Arnold putting in 15, Merritt Alderink adding 13, Trevor Wallar putting in 9, Drew Weenum adding 8, and Bergen Loeprich and Josh Agar each adding 5.  The Dux are now 6-4 and will host Zeeland East in a girls (6:00) and boys (7:30) doubleheader on Tuesday night.
