The Zeeland West Dux varsity team finished off a perfect week for the boys basketball program by going 6-0 vs. Mona Shores and Reeths Puffer.  Reeths Puffer entered the night 5-1, but West handed them their first conference loss 58-47.  West started off the game quickly with a couple threes from Kylan Arnold and Trevor Wallar, but Puffer battled back and the scoring went back and forth for both teams with the score tied 17-17 after one.  The Dux pulled ahead to a 6 point lead early in the second quarter, but struggled to stretch the lead while only giving up 7 points in the second quarter.  The score at the half was 30-24.  Drew Weenum came out hot in the second half and hit back to back threes to stretch the lead to 12 points.  The hot shooting for the Dux continued in the third quarter after great ball movement by the Dux.  West had many open shots because of unselfish passing that allowed West to hit 7 of their first 8 threes in the second half.  7 different players for the Dux hit threes on the way to twelve threes for the game.  Seven players scored five points or more for the Dux with Merritt Alderink leading the team with 12 points and added 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.  Bergan Loeprich chipped in with a solid night adding 9 points and 3 assists while playing strong defense.
