The Zeeland West Dux had their first home game in front of a home crowd in over a year and the game did not disappoint leaving the fans wanting more  Hamilton's student section and the Dux Swamp had a lot to cheer in a back and forth battle as the Dux pulled off a 71-66 win in a well played game.

The Dux got off to an early lead behind the sharp shooting of Deklen Klamt who hit two deep threes to get the Dux an early lead 27-13.  The margin stayed about the same going into the half with the dux leading 42-22.  Hamilton came out strong in the second half knocking down shot after shot from deep, taking control of the momentum, and rallying back to cut the lead to 1 at the end of the 3rd with the score 49-48.  Just like in the Dux first game (win over West Ottawa 50-47), the fourth quarter was tight the entire way with the Dux never leading by more than 4 points until the final moments.  With the score 63-62 and a little over a minute to go, Kylan Arnold hit his second of two late fourth quarter threes to give the Dux a 66-62 lead.  West held on until the final buzzer sounded and they secured a 71- 66 win giving them a 2-0 record and Hamilton dropped to 1-1.  

The Dux spread the scoring out with Arnold going for 19 points (6 reb, 4 assists, and 2 steals), Merritt Alderink-14 points, Luke Bakker-10 points, 9 reb, 1 charge taken, and Drew Weenum/Deklen Klamt/Myles Steffen each scoring 9 points.  

Come out to support the Dux next weekend at the Zeeland East/West Boy's Basketball Holiday Tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:00 pm both nights as they will play Coopersville on Tuesday and Gull Lake on Wednesday.
