Zeeland West traveled to Reeths Puffer on Thursday night for a rematch with the Rockets.  Puffer won the first game a couple of weeks ago by 4 points.  The teams matched early baskets until the Rockets made a run late to take a 21-16 lead.  In the second quarter the Dux hung around, but trailed 33-27 at the half.  West got a couple early baskets to tie the game up early in the 3rd quarter and the game was back and forth from there with neither team leading by more than 4 points for the remainder of the game.  Going into the 4th, West was down one 43-42.  Gulker put in 8 of his team high 23 points in the 4th.  Walt Bouvier played strong defense all night long and added a timely three late in the fourth.  Freshmen Luke Bakker added 5 of his 11 points in the fourth as well including a huge layup late and a free throw with 30 seconds to go to give the Dux a 3 point lead.  Puffer came down and tied the game with a difficult made 3 which gave the Dux the ball back and a chance for the final shot.  The Dux called timeout with 9 seconds to go to draw up a play.  Gulker stepped up big and hit what turned out to be the game winning jumper with just 3 seconds left on the clock, 58-56.  West will play Holland at home on Saturday.  The Dux are now 7-6 overall and 7-4 in conference.
