Zeeland West (2-2) returned home Thursday night to play Reeths Puffer (3-1).  The Dux came out ice cold in the first quarter only scoring one field goal and one free throw in the first quarter and trailed 11-3.  In the second quarter Carson Gulker (25 points) got it going scoring 8 out of the Dux 14 points while the Rockets matched the Dux with 14 points and took a halftime lead of 25-17.  Senior Kendall Smith from Reeths Puffer got it going in the third quarter scoring 11 points including a buzzer beater 3 to put the Rockets up 43-30.  The Dux didn't give up and battled back to get the score down to a 3 point game with about a minutes to go.  During the 16-6 run, the Dux were led by seniors Avery Alderink (10 points) and Gulker who each dropped in 7 points in the 4th quarter. West outscored the Rockets 20-11 and only gave up one fourth quarter field goal.  Meanwhile the Rockets went 9 of 11 from the free throw line to hold on to a 54-50 victory.  The Dux will be at home against their cross the creek rival, Zeeland East, next Tuesday.
