The Varsity boys soccer team travelled to Hamilton tonight to take on the Hawkeyes in a conference matchup. After a sluggish start the Dux got on the board when Kiah Hoffer took a pass from the outside and calmly placed to the left of a diving Hamilton keeper. The Dux crowd again to take a 2-0 lead on Owen Frego's ball he ticked in after a ball squirted in behind the defense before Hamilton got one back on a long ball over the top. The Dux lead 2-1 at half. The Dux came out in the 2nd half and padded their lead when Gabe Lichtenwalner made a run into the box, received the ball off of his thigh and laid a left footed shot off of the far post and on. The Dux weren't finished as Owen Frego scored 3 more, 2 of which came off of set pieces Garrett Kapenga Scored off of a save, and Mo Alichar scored to make it an 8-goal game for the Dux. The defense was stout in the 2nd half and Max Zeedyk was solid in net for the Dux as they shut down any hopes of Hamilton making the game close again. Next game is Monday evening at Spring Lake.
