In JV Boys soccer action this week, the Zeeland West Dux suffered a heart breaking 0-1 loss to Unity Christian on Wednesday night. After a slow and somewhat sloppy start, the Dux found their footing and began working their way into the game, building confidence and generating some possession. Despite several decent scoring chances, the Dux and Crusaders looked to be headed 0-0 as the first half wound down. However, with under 10 seconds to go, a miscleared ball in the corner found its way to the top of the Dux penatly box. Unity Christian capitalized as their shot hit the back of the net with one second remaining in the half. A stronger start in the second half led to a couple of really good chances by the Dux, as they tried unsuccessfully to net the equalizer. With less than 10 minutes to go, freshman Nolan Barratt was clipped from behind in the penalty box, resulting in a penalty kick for the Dux. However, Camdyn Klaasen's penalty was saved by the Unity Christian goal keeper, preserving the win for the Crusaders.
