EAST GRAND RAPIDS HIGH SCHOOL: 12
The Zeeland varsity water polo team lost in their season opener, 7-12. Nate Brinks led the team on the offensive end with five goals and two drawn exclusions. Mason Landes had six steals, and Keaton Draeger had five saves in cage.
It was a lot of players first time playing varsity water polo, and despite the steep learning curve, they all did a great job.
The varsity team travels to Rockford this weekend while the JV team hosts their home tournament.
