Boys and Girls 7/8 Creekside Cross Country-co-op vs. Multiple Opponents

The MIddle School Girls Cross Country team had their first meet of the season at the West Ottawa Invitational on Saturday. The Lady Dux finished 4th place out of 11 teams. Evie Kleinheksel led the way running 13:46 to finish 8th. She was followed by Katie Greenhoe (12th) who ran a new personal best time by more than a minute, Caralyn Elkins (15th), Stella Werley (24th) and Kendall Dykstra (28th). Congratulations to each of the girls on their impressive first meet.

The Middle School Boys Cross Country team had their first meet of the season at the West Ottawa Invitational on Saturday. The Men Dux finished in 2nd place (out of 11 teams). It was a 3 person race for first with just over a quarter mile to go between Keagan Smith, Rob Dodd and a runner from Holland Chr. Keagan and Rob worked together and really turned it on that last quarter mile to finish nearly 16 seconds ahead of the 3rd place runner. Rob edged Keagan out for 1st place by 1 second in an exciting finish as both set new personal bests by over 1 min. The first and second place finishers were followed by Josh Dodd (7th), Sam Ashby (12th), Reid Cousins (35th) and Owen Towne (37th). Michael Ensing was a medalist in the JV race finishing 12th. Miguel Echeverria also ran a new personal best. Congratulations to all of the boys on their first meet.
