The 8th grade soccer team lost to the Maroons of Holland Christian on Tuesday by a score of 3-1. In the first half, Holland Christian struck early gaining a 1-0 lead at the 10 minute mark.
Soon after that Ellie Merson ran past the opposing defense and blasted a shot at the Goalkeeper. The keeper saved the first shot, however the rebound came right back to Ellie and she was able to head the ball into the back of the net for the equalizer!
Holland Christian added another goal before the half to go up 2-1. The Dux played well in the second half with many near misses at goal, but were unable to close the gap. The Maroons added an insurance goal in the last 5 minutes to make the final 3-1.
The Dux are back in action vs Byron Center next week on Tuesday.
