Alexa Brott and Ellie Jobson each collected three hits in four at bats, as Zeeland West defeated Northview 6-1 for the first game of a double header on Thursday. Brott doubled in the first, singled in the third, and doubled again in the seventh inning. Jobson doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth inning.
The Dux were tied 1-1 going into the fourth inning when Ellie Jobson broke up the tie with a single, scoring one run. Then a single by Jenna Hendricks followed to extend the lead 3-1.
Brott earned the win for Zeeland West in the circle. The righty surrendered two hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none.
The Dux accumulated 12 hits in the game. Brott and Jobson each collected three hits for Zeeland West. Emily Kragt collected two hits in four at bats and the team had five stolen bases for the game.
